Tuna Pizza Melt

Tomatoes contain citrus and malic acids, which can trigger heartburn symptoms, so when those pizza cravings take hold, opt for this tomato-free pizza.

Ingredients:

Nonstick cooking spray

1 (6 ounces) can flaked tuna in water (drained)

1 tsp dried parsley

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt (to season)

1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

2 (8”) round pita

½ cup reduced-fat Swiss cheese (shredded)

Directions:

Preheat the main oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.

Spritz a small frying pan with nonstick cooking spray and heat over moderate to high heat.

Stir fry the drained tuna for 2-3 minutes, until well and evenly coated.

Scatter over the parsley, basil, oregano, garlic powder, and salt.

Spread the olive oil over the pita.

Spread the tuna mixture over the pita evenly.

Place the tuna topped pita on the prepared baking sheet, and scatter the shredded cheese over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is entirely melted, for 5-7 minutes.

Serve and enjoy.
